BRST Parent Meeting Minutes

 

November 6, 2006

 

  1. Swim Meet - Blizzard Meet at Brunswick Rec Center on Dec. 19, 2006.

All parents were told that the team has 100% participation from our team for volunteers.  Yeah!  Thank you to everyone for your support and help.  The team would not be a success without everyone involved.

    1. We were all given a detailed hand out on the various jobs needing to be done and who will be responsible for each of them.
    2. Set up the night before is needed.  Krissie said we can get things set up at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2006. 
    3. Sponsors are needed for the heat sheets. Please gather as many sponsors as possible.  There has been an offered for a business to take the front page for a fee of $500.00
    4. Heat winners will be getting a free ice cream coupon from Dairy Queen.
    5. Donations are needed for the volunteers.  Water and snacks.  You can donate either a monetary amount or the items for the day.
    6. The concessions are not free to volunteers; we will have to purchase our own food.  Hospitality Room is for the coaches.

 

  1. Fundraiser - Butter Braids should have been picked up on Friday. November 10.

 

  1. Mail Boxes – Please make sure your children are checking them and bringing

home the papers provided.   We try to email mail everyone with all the

Information, but it is important to check the boxes as well.

  1. Swimmer Incentives -  Time to motivate the swimmers!!!  The swimmers are no longer being punished for the cupcake incident.
    1. Report Card Incentive.  All A’s and B’s, please submit a copy of the report card, your swimmer will be entitled to a pizza party for a job well done.  Date is to be announced.
  2. USA Registration – All registration forms and the $45.00 fee are due by November 15, 2006.  Checks are made payable to BRST.  Every swimmer has to be registered by December 1, 2006. Registration is good thru December 31, 2007.
  3. Swim Apparel – Deadline: November 3, 2006 and December 1, 2006.
  4. Release forms – All release forms need to be signed by parents if you want you child to appear on the web site.
  5. Coach Colleen – Will be talking with swimmers about their personal goals to set for themselves.
  6. Web site:  The team wants to keep this web site, even as people come and go from the team.  The site will be linked to the City of Brunswick.
